The Canine Impact Initiative Council
FORMING NOW
Committee Guidelines & Structure
Overview
The Canine Impact Initiative represents a unified effort to bring together professionals and advocates across the canine world — from rescue and veterinary medicine to training, grooming, breeding, and beyond to celebrate excellence, innovation, and collaboration.
To ensure both events are meaningful, impactful, and representative of the entire industry, we are establishing a founding committee composed of respected leaders, innovators, and community advocates from diverse canine-related fields.
Committee Purpose
Advisory & Development
Guide the overall vision, tone, and structure of events and where funding goes.
Provide insight, professional expertise, and community connections to ensure both events reflect excellence and unity across the canine community.
Awards Selection
Review nominations and assist in the evaluation and selection of award finalists and recipients.
Uphold fairness, transparency, and credibility throughout the judging process.
Ambassadorship
Serve as visible champions of the event’s mission.
Help generate awareness, nominations, sponsorships, and attendance by leveraging professional networks. This is all good and straightforward.
Conflict of Interest & Integrity
To maintain the highest level of integrity, all committee members agree to:
Disclose any potential conflicts of interest (e.g., if a nominee is a close colleague, employee, or business partner).
Recuse themselves from voting or influencing selection in categories where a conflict exists.
Evaluate nominations based on impact, innovation, integrity, and inspiration — not popularity or affiliation.
This process ensures fairness while allowing members to continue contributing valuable expertise across categories.
Recognition & Sponsorship
Founding Committee Members will be recognized as both Advisors and Sponsors of the current year’s Canine Impact Initiative events.
Benefits include:
Name and/or organization logo featured on event materials, website, and promotional media under “Founding Committee & Sponsors.”
Reserved VIP access to events and recognition during the awards ceremony.
Vendor Booth during events.
Early insight and involvement in shaping event programs, categories, and key partnerships.
Term & Commitment
Committee appointments are for an initial one-year term.
Members are expected to attend virtual or in-person meetings as needed (minimum monthly).
Our Shared Vision
Together, this committee will help propel the Canine Impact Initiative and it’s events as respected, annual traditions that celebrate integrity, compassion, and innovation across every corner of the canine world.
By uniting diverse perspectives and expertise, we will create events that inspire collaboration, elevate standards, and leave a lasting impact on the lives of dogs everywhere.
